History

Football in Macclesfield has deep community roots. As far back as the 1970s, youth teams proudly played under the banner of Macclesfield Boys, providing local children with opportunities to learn and enjoy the game.

In 2010, when Macclesfield Town F.C. experienced significant financial difficulties and withdrew its youth setup, local parents and volunteers stepped forward. By joining forces with Macclesfield Boys, they formed Macclesfield Junior FC, ensuring that grassroots football in the town would not only survive, but continue to grow.

A new chapter began in 2015 with the development of the housing estate surrounding Jasmine Park. The club committee became part of the Pavilion Community Interest Company, enabling the club to share high-quality pitches and pavilion facilities with other local groups and organisations — strengthening ties within the wider community.

Today, Macclesfield Junior FC remains committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment where children of all abilities can develop their skills, build confidence, and most importantly, enjoy their football. The club is proudly community-driven, with parents actively involved as coaches, volunteers, and matchday helpers — ensuring that the spirit of local football continues for generations to come.
